There's been a lot of criticism on the Amazon review boards about the grammar in "For Sale in Palm Springs". I agree, it needs an edit. When it was written, 7 years ago, I did have a professional editor proofread it. She was a technical editor who worked on software manuals, not a book editor. So it needs some work. But it is hard. This is something that I wrote seven years ago and by now tens of thousands (really!) of people have downloaded and read it. I really feel disconnected from the story and if I were to write it today, I would write something totally different. In fact, that is probably why my latest book, "Guilty by Association" is not making a lot of progress. Readers have said that I "owe" another book to them. Ya know what. I don't. I'll probably finish "Guilty by Association". This year even. But I may find a way to kill Henry Wright. He's getting a bit stodgy.

Mr. Simon, I promise this is not spam. I just started working as a freelance editor. I will be happy to provide you with a reference and help you in any way I can. It's a bold thing for me to do this, I know, and I apologize. I have downloaded your book to my Kindle and can't wait to read it! Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you. Good luck with your writing! http://www.teresaleewatson.com/
ReplyDeleteI'm interested. Send me a quote.
ReplyDeleteAlbert Simon.
Mr. Simon, I purchased and read your first 5 Henry Wright books and really enjoyed the characters. When and where can I get Missing at Mel Avenue and Guilty by Association? I can't find it anywhere. BTW, I gave your books 5 Stars on Smashwords and at Sony where I bought the other 4 books.
ReplyDeleteMr. Simon - Loved all your writings to date. When can I expect Missing at Mel Avenue and Guilty by Association to be available at Barnes&Noble for my Nook?
ReplyDeleteLoved the Henry Wright Stories, thought they flowed very well very enjoyable to read. Please don't kill the character off yet.
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe you don't "owe" us but it would be nice. I have actually paid for 4 of your books thus far and enjoyed them, so you are getting something out of it. Sorry there have been no new books. I would hope you would not kill Henry off. At least tie up some loose ends.
ReplyDeleteDid Albert die or something?
