We're currently working on the sixth Henry Wright Mystery, Guilty by Association, and are working hard on research. Since this story involved syndicates and plumbing - yes, we know it's an odd combination - research takes some interesting forms. As a result, with this story set in the Inland Empire city of Palm Springs, we're spending a lot of time there. During our research we discovered that a lot of plumbing in Palm Springs is actually outdoors. This area has the greatest concentration of private outdoor swimming pools anywhere in the United States. That started us thinking about a mystery surrounding a swimming pool. Certainly there must be a story for our intrepid detective Henry Wright to investigate? If you have been following our blog, we have posted the first few chapters of Guilty by Association on scribd.com for your comments. We'd love to hear from you and listen to what you think of our story so far. We'll be working on it during the summer when once again we move our household to Palm Springs. We'll post an update here at that time. Until then, stay hydrated!

I am in the middle of reading your book, "For Sale in Palm Springs", which I found on SmashBooks yesterday. May I say I am thoroughly enjoying this book and will be purchasing the rest of the Henry Wright series through Amazon. I will be looking forward to the sixth edition, but as you can see, I have a few to catch up on. Anyway, just wanted to tell you I really appreciate you offering your first book for free. Your writing style is very entertaining and your book is keeping me guessing as to "who done it." Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI got hooked with the first (free) book on iBooks. I bought the next four (very fair prices!) but now I can't find any of the others listed on your website (desertdreaming.com). Not on Amazon-Kindle (I installed the Kindle app on my iPhone); not on Smashwords; not on scribd! Am I missing something? I've been looking forward to reading the rest of this great series.
ReplyDeleteMy apologies to all of my loyal fans. There are currently five mysteries and two short stories available. Work on the sixth book in the series, Missing from Mel Avenue, was started a few years ago and then I abandoned it when Henry Wright started exhibiting traits that I didn't care for. (Sometimes characters take on a life of their own.) I wasn't sure how to fix it, so I started a new story late last year called Guilty by Association. I'm expecting that book to be available Spring of 2011. I have uploaded a couple of chapters to Smashwords, if you're interested in reading what exists so far, please do and give me your comments.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I appreciate your interest and support.
